The Future of Product Transparency

17 Sept 2026
Speakeasy Sessions, Shoreditch Town Hall

With the fight for a truly circular future still hanging in the balance, the need for greater accountability, transparency and traceability has never been more urgent. And, with greenwashing still rife, how do we know that the products and materials we choose are genuinely better for the planet?

Digital Product Passports could help answer these questions by making the story behind a product more visible, from where its materials come from and how it was made, to whether it can be repaired, reused or recycled. If the technology is available, should they be made mandatory?

In this open and engaging conversation, Roddy Clarke brings together sustainability consultant and co-founder of The Sustainable Design Collective Joanna Knight, Director of Regenerative Design at Perkins&Will Asif Din, Global Sustainability & Community Manager for Colebrook Bosson Saunders Amalie Aarestrup, and Joel De Mowbray of Yes Make/Tipping Point East.

Together, they’ll unpack what product transparency really means, how legislation could change the way we design and buy, and what a greener future can look like in practice, not just in theory.
