Applelec Interiors unveils new neuroinclusive product concepts at NeuroPlaces 2026
Applelec Interiors will showcase a new collection of products and concepts developed around its Designing for Calm approach at NeuroPlaces 2026, exploring how lighting, acoustics, materiality, biophilic design and clearer spatial cues can contribute to calmer, more comfortable and more inclusive environments.
Building on almost 30 years of Applelec expertise in signage, backlighting and architectural illumination, the interiors division has adapted existing technologies and developed new concepts specifically for environments where sensory experience, comfort and accessibility need to be considered from the outset.
A key focus of the stand will be LumiSorb and LumiSorb Flex Wall, designed in partnership with acoustic experts acou.space. The systems combine acoustic treatment with integrated illumination, allowing sound absorption, surface design and lighting to work together as one architectural solution.
LumiSorb can be developed as individual feature panels, partial walls or larger illuminated acoustic installations, while LumiSorb Flex Wall extends the concept across larger surfaces using flowing illuminated forms to create visual rhythm, support orientation and help define different areas within shared environments. Lighting options can also be linked to tunable white and circadian-conscious programmes, allowing the atmosphere to adapt throughout the day.
Also receiving its first public showing at NeuroPlaces 2026 is LumiGuide, Applelec Interiors’ new approach to accessible illuminated wayfinding. Combining illuminated text and symbols with illuminated tactile Braille, clearer visual cues and optional NFC functionality, LumiGuide is designed to help people identify destinations, understand what comes next and navigate unfamiliar environments with greater confidence.
The company will also introduce LumiWindow, a rethinking of the traditional illuminated lightbox for neuroinclusive environments. By combining imagery with controlled backlighting, LumiWindow can bring nature, daylight cues and gentle visual interest into spaces where external views or natural daylight may be limited. Options include tunable white illumination, day-and-night printed imagery and softly changing light effects.
The established LumiStone illuminated surface range has also been adapted for the neuroinclusive market through a new Calm Collection of 12 curated designs. Selected for their natural movement, balanced composition and softer visual character, the collection explores how pattern, material depth and controlled illumination can be used to create warmer, more restful visual environments.
Alongside these ranges, visitors will also be able to explore Parametric Walls, designed by Mario Romano of M|R Walls and illuminated by Applelec. Their non-repetitive, nature-inspired construction creates flowing architectural surfaces with natural variation, depth and texture. Applelec Interiors will also present LumiZone, an adaptive lighting approach that brings together flexible linear illumination, illuminated surfaces and intelligent control to help define zones, support different activities and give users greater influence over their immediate environment.
Rachel Gould, Marketing Manager at Applelec Group, said:
“NeuroPlaces has encouraged us to look at our products from a different perspective. Rather than simply asking how a product looks, we’ve been considering how lighting, acoustics, pattern, materiality and information can influence the way people experience a space.
“Some of the products we’re showing are completely new concepts, while others have been adapted specifically for this audience. What connects them is the idea that there isn’t one perfect environment for everybody. We want to give designers more tools to create spaces that are clearer, calmer and more adaptable around the people using them.”
The new products form part of Applelec Interiors’ wider Designing for Calm approach, which explores how multiple elements of the built environment can work together rather than being considered in isolation.
Visitors to NeuroPlaces 2026 will be able to experience the products on the Applelec Interiors stand and explore how each solution can be adapted around different spaces, applications and user needs.
