Press Release: Holte x Palet
Working with Palet's existing pattern library and pioneering printing technology, Holte has curated five distinct combinations, each telling a tangible story through pattern, orientation and colour. The selections move beyond popular or conventional arrangements, drawing inspiration from classic textile traditions including moquette, gingham, ombré, basketweave and Welsh blankets, as well as the work of Josef and Anni Albers and Marianne Straub. Each preset comprises two to four colours drawn from a palette of five, and can be ordered directly online via Palet's design tool, making the collection accessible to architects, designers and homeowners alike.
The collection will be presented in the form of two new kitchen splashbacks displayed alongside large Palet tile exhibition boards, inviting visitors to explore the relationship between surface, pattern and space.
At the heart of Palet's work is a modular logic that rewards close attention. Each tile measures a precise 149×149mm and appears deceptively simple in isolation; repeated across a surface, it gives rise to intricate visual systems shaped by pattern, glaze variation and spatial context.
Subtle shifts in tone and texture emerge up close, while from a distance the surface resolves into a bold, unified composition. Founded in the Netherlands in 2021 at the intersection of digital design and traditional craft, Palet's made-to-order system gives architects and designers the freedom to experiment with precision and consistency.
Holte, founded by Tom and Fiona Ginnett, has built a reputation for rethinking the modern kitchen through a balance of accessibility, craftsmanship and considered design. Known for a quietly confident colour palette and carefully curated materials, the studio approaches the kitchen as a living space, one that evolves with the rhythms of daily life. Sustainability and longevity sit at the core of the brand's philosophy, guiding every decision around process, production and performance.
Completing the showroom presentation, Hand & Eye Studio will launch the I-beam, designed by Mentsen, alongside a brand-new high-gloss version of the studio's long-running extruded terracotta A-beam series. The I-beam design centres on a bespoke paper, created specially for Hand & Eye by The Paper Foundation, celebrating traditional paper craft. Suspended from a beautifully crafted cherry or maple timber beam and LED assembly, the paper hangs elegantly to create a warm, textured light.
Together, the collaborations create a setting that celebrates craft, experimentation and the dialogue between structure and surface, form and finish.
