The Alux Interlock Chair is a study in aluminium allowed to remain entirely itself. Cast as a single material throughout, its frame is built from interlocking forms, legs, back, and seat leaning into one another at subtly offset angles that give the chair a sense of quiet movement despite its evident structural weight. Rather than polishing away the evidence of its own making, the casting marks are left visible on the surface, a deliberate decision to let the chair's process remain legible in its final form. An indigo oil pigment is worked into the metal after casting, sinking into its natural pores rather than coating the surface, so that colour and material become genuinely inseparable rather than layered on top of one another.
The result is a chair that reads as raw and structural, yet is unmistakably resolved: aluminium treated not as a substitute for another material, but as a subject in its own right.
