The exhibition grows out of Biomaterials Library, the first publicly accessible physical collection of its kind in the Baltic States. Based in Vilnius and continuously expanding, the Library brings together innovative materials from around the world while connecting material creators, designers, artists, researchers, educators, manufacturers and industry.
For London, the collection takes the form of a compact, modular, library-like installation. Rather than presenting biomaterials as isolated products or universal solutions, it places samples, objects and concise research information side by side. Visitors can trace each material from its biological, renewable or waste-derived source through its transformation process to its potential applications.
The selection ranges from early-stage experiments to resolved design objects, revealing how local resources, biological processes, production side streams and craft knowledge can generate new material possibilities. By bringing these practices together within a shared physical archive, the exhibition creates greater international visibility for Lithuanian and Baltic material innovation while opening opportunities for research, collaboration and real-world application.
Participating creators include Agnė Kučerenkaitė, Austėja Platūkytė, Dijuota Žilytė, Evelina Kudabaitė, INDI, Indrė Spitrytė-Mikuckė, Sarmīte Polakova and Waste Matters Studio.
