Foursight
"Combining our backgrounds in interior design and product design, we approach objects with an awareness of both the product itself and the space it sits within. We both believe that implementing elements of playfulness can make design more approachable, more emotionally engaging, and ultimately more memorable."
The frame is rebuilt entirely in hand-bent and welded steel rods, while the tokens are hand-assembled from layered material, giving every piece a weight and tactility the original never had. Without the enclosing plastic frame, the whole character of the object shifts: the grid opens up, every piece on it is visible, held rather than hidden. The construction reflects a deliberate care - each rod shaped to a specific angle, each token built up layer by layer - a making process that mirrors the strategic precision the game asks of its players.
The game's form and material allow it to move confidently between settings: from a living room shelf to a bar counter to a table outdoors – “ not as a toy brought along, but as an object that belongs. A game no longer designed to be tidied away after the last round, but earns its place on the surface.”
Alongside single tokens, Foursight introduces linked doubles and triples, allowing players to drop two or three pieces in a single turn. Each player receives a limited number of these linked tokens at the start — once used, they do not return. The core principle stays the same: connect four to win. But the expanded set introduces a layer of resource and timing that the original never had, turning each turn into a decision between restraint and commitment.
