LumiGuide – Accessible Illuminated Wayfinding

Developed by Applelec Interiors as part of our Designing for Calm approach, LumiGuide is designed around the idea that wayfinding should do more than simply point people in the right direction. Clear, predictable information can help reduce uncertainty and make unfamiliar journeys easier to understand.
LumiGuide combines illuminated text, symbols and colour with illuminated tactile Braille, helping important information remain accessible to people with reduced vision while still being readable by touch. Adjustable brightness and considered colour choices can help provide clear visual cues without introducing unnecessary visual noise.
Signs can also include next-step information, images and symbols to help people anticipate what comes next in a journey — particularly useful in complex or unfamiliar environments.
Optional NFC technology can extend the experience further, providing access to audio, multilingual or additional digital information from the sign.
Each LumiGuide sign is made bespoke, allowing wording, symbols, colour, size, material and illumination to be tailored to the environment and its users.
From identifying a destination to previewing a route, LumiGuide is designed to support clearer, more confident and more inclusive navigation.
