Maran translates the fluid form and rich symbolism of the Şahmaran myth (a half-woman, half-serpent deity representing wisdom and transformation) into a physical collectible. The piece modernises traditional grounded-seating layouts with a fluid, cylindrical backrest that mimics the movement of a serpent.
Produced through tufting, woodworking, and hand-sewn textile processes, the work aims to create not only a seating object, but also a space connected to ritual, gathering, a renewed relationship with cultural roots and remembrance.
