TAKSHNI
Takshni was founded in 2019 by Richa Uppal, a graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), India, and the London College of Fashion (LCF), UK. What began as a single maker's inquiry has grown into a collective of artisans, artists, and designers drawn from five states across India; bound not by a shared medium, but by a shared way of thinking.
The studio's work is concept-first: here, material follows the idea rather than preceding it. Its guiding principle is to foster awareness through the fusion of crafts, treating craft as an act of ecological and social responsibility; and each piece as an occasion to look twice, to see the hand, the tradition, and the connection held within the making.
