Kirti Jalan an Architect and Furniture designer who founded her studio ‘Kirti Jalan Design Studio’ in India, after completing her masters in furniture design from CEPT University. India as a country is rich in natural resources and skilled artisans, however value of craft is perishing day by day. Hence the studio’s purpose! The studio aims -in making rattan products using traditional handicraft techniques with new design sensibilities – re-think and revive craft for the future – employ systems with techniques, which benefits the craft clusters – have a human centric approach for every design decision.
Currently, the studio works with variety of products, like lampshades, furniture, mannequins, interior installations and others, for both residential and commercial spaces. The team consists of inhouse designers, architects along with craftsmen/craftswomen. The range of work is carried across the nation, in collaboration with different architects, designers and craft clusters of the region.
