Rosie May is a ceramic designer based in Essex and a graduate of Central Saint Martins, specialising in sculptural lighting.
Rooted in a practice that bridges craft and contemporary design, her work explores the relationship between light, form, and atmosphere. Investigating how lighting can be used as a spatial tool to influence the emotional quality of an interior space, her work considers how natural references can be introduced into the home to create environments that feel comforting and calming.
Working primarily with porcelain, she uses its delicate yet durable nature to her advantage. Through slipcasting, she achieves thin walls that diffuse the light, creating a soft, ambient glow.
