Spero Furniture was born from a belief that furniture can transcend utility and become something far more profound - an object of memory, emotion, and permanence. Architect turned furniture designer, Madhuri Rao doesn’t just design furniture, she sculpts narratives  in wood.

Founded in 2020 and based in Indore, Spero exists at the intersection of heritage and innovation, where India’s centuries-old craft traditions meet a contemporary design language. More than a furniture studio, Spero is a dialogue between past and future. We are reimagining Indian craftsmanship for a global audience creating pieces that carry heritage with nostalgia, modernity without detachment, and beauty with meaning.

Each piece is a study in balance, between strength and softness, restraint and character, precision and soul. Solid wood, cast aluminium, and natural finishes come together in compositions that are tactile, sculptural, and quietly powerful.

We believe in the poetry of material honesty. The warmth of wood, the weight of metal, the evidence of the maker’s hand. Nothing is concealed, nothing is excessive. Every grain, texture, and imperfection becomes part of the narrative.
