Sustainable Ply, a British circular materials company based in Lewes, East Sussex, will join Shoreditch Design Week 2026 as an Official Materials Partner.

Founded by designer and material innovator Paris May, Sustainable Ply develops lightweight engineered sheet materials around a patent-pending structural core made from recovered corrugated cardboard. Suitable material is collected from organisations and independent businesses across Brighton and the surrounding area before being processed and re-engineered in Sussex.

At Shoreditch Design Week, Sustainable Ply will introduce SP-FB, a circular printable panel developed for signage, graphics, point-of-sale displays and temporary installations. SP-FB combines specialist printable fibre-based skins with a structural core made from recovered corrugated cardboard. It can be printed flat, installed light and recovered for further material use after a campaign.

The material forms part of a wider platform in which the same recovered-cardboard core can be combined with different surfaces to create structural panels, printable boards, art boards, packaging and modular display systems.

Visitors will also see Sustainable Ply panels used within exhibition display structures at Shoreditch Town Hall, demonstrating how a material commonly treated as waste can be transformed into a functional part of the event environment.

Sustainable Ply has also begun working with local businesses to create practical closed-loop systems, collecting suitable waste cardboard and re-engineering it into useful products that can return to the organisations it came from. These early projects demonstrate how business waste can become a local material resource rather than entering an anonymous waste stream.

By connecting local material recovery with practical manufacturing and design, Sustainable Ply aims to give cardboard a longer and more valuable second life.

Discover Sustainable Ply at Shoreditch Design Week, 15-20 September 2026.
