Isola returned to London Design Festival for its third edition, as part of Shoreditch Design Week. Hosted at the historic Shoreditch Town Hall, Isola brought together two curated spaces showcasing emerging designers, studios, brands, and the ideas shaping contemporary design.
In the Council Chamber, In Between: From Making to Meaning explored the processes behind design, from materials and craftsmanship to experimentation and new forms of making. The exhibition brought together a curated selection of works that revealed the ideas, gestures, techniques, and decisions behind the finished object, inviting visitors to look beyond the final outcome and discover the stories embedded within each piece.
In the adjoining Mayor’s Parlour, Isola Space brought its Dubai concept to London with a compact design store, lounge, and programme space, presenting furniture, objects, and collectible pieces by members of the Isola Design Community, alongside live demonstrations and workshops. The space featured low-impact elements by McKie’s Rotational Bricks, Sustainable Ply, and KAVA Surfaces, combining responsible materials with functional exhibition design.
